(1-3)-β-D-Glucan (BG) is a major cell wall component of most pathogenic fungal species. BG is released from the cell wall when the fungus is invading blood or deep tissue . Thus BG is used as a biomarker for screening and diagnosis of invasive fungal infections. Goldstream® Fungus (1-3)-β-D-Glucan Test (GCT-110T) is a sensitive and rapid assay for the detection of (1-3)-β-D-Glucan in serum samples to aid in early diagnosis of invasive fungal infections. The test is capable of providing test results within 40 minutes.
