Goldsite GT-100 is based on TRFIA technology ie. Time Resolved Flouroimmuno Assay. TRFIA is similar to fluorometric assays but differs in its use of specific molecules like lanthanides which has unusual property of emitting over long periods of time after excitation( increased Stoke’s Shift) whereas in florescin based assays the emission starts with in few seconds of being excited ( reduced Stoke’s shift). Thus avoiding the elevated background signals as seen in standard fluorescent based assays and in turn offering better sensitivity.
